The Community Health Worker (CHW) Foundations in Behavioral Health is a 64-hour micro-credential that prepares CHWs to bridge gaps in behavioral health care and provide invaluable support to individuals in need.  Upon successful completion, the student will receive a certificate for this micro-credential from MiCHWA. 

There are limited currently certified CHW seats available for free using the code, UPSKILL at checkout. These seats are first come first serve. 

The cost for this CHW upskilling course is $600. Seats are limited!

Virtual classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-4:30pm.
This program is conducted virtually.  It is a online synchronous model incorporating learn at your own pace modules as well as face to face Zoom meetings.

Eating disorders Human trafficking
Violence prevention Depression
Stress management Racism’s impact on children and adolescents

The Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance (MiCHWA) actively supports Community Health Worker education, training, and workforce sustainability. Key pieces of that role include providing a Michigan-specific core competency-based training relevant to CHW skills and roles and administering a statewide CHW Membership Portal.
